Boat ownership is relatively costly.
Any boat acceptable to most conditions in and around the gulfs
would be in the order of 6-7 metres. Fitted out with safety gear,
fishing tackle, etc. will mean an outlay of $25,000 at today's
prices.

On Charter you have the services
of a skipper that, all though he cannot make the sune shine, calm
the sea or stop the wind. He does have accumulated local knowledge
and a fully equipped and insured vessel representing the best
chances to get the best results.
In comparison with personal boat
ownership SA Charters cost $175 per day approximately. If you
went 5 times a year it would obviously cost $875. This is a long
way short of $8000 per year required for private boat ownership.
It represents a weekly investment of $15 - a small cost if fishing
and boating is your favorite pasttime.
